Lily’s Bannock

Ingredients:
4 cups flour
3 tbsp. syrup
2 tbsp. baking powder
1 egg
Pinch of salt
2 cups water
1 ½ cup oil to heat/fry in pan
Directions:
Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl and add water or milk as needed
Knead the dough on a floured surface
Flatten out with your hands and poke all over with a fork
Cut into 12 pieces and slash the dough
Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides
Serve with jam/butter or syrup
