Cindy's Dad's Stew


1 pound of venison or stew beef
Vegetable oil
4 sticks of celery
5 carrots
1 onion
6 radishes
Frozen or canned corn
2 bay leaves
2 cloves minced garlic
Use Bistro to thicken
salt & pepper to taste


Brown meat in a bit of oil in a Dutch oven then just cover with water

Add onions and celery, allow the water to boil off and the vegetables to brown

Add potatoes and cover with 2 cups of water and ½ tsp. salt – simmer for 30 minutes

Add carrots/corn/brown mushrooms/radishes/garlic/ ½ tsp. pepper/2 bay leaves

On the side, mix bistro with1 cup of cold water then stir into the stew.  Add water to get the consistency you like.  Let simmer for 20 minutes to thicken, stirring often to prevent sticking.


Add other spices you like, diced tomatoes, hot sauce – and serve.
